Nirula's plans to open 10 ice cream kiosks by Sept

Quick service restaurant chain Nirula's is looking at expanding its just launched standalone ice cream kiosk model and plans to open up to ten such outlets across India by September.
"We opened our first standalone ice cream kiosk at Noida in the NCR this week. We see lot of opportunities in this segment and our plan is to have around nine or ten such kiosk by end of the summer season in September," Nirula's Managing Director Samir Kuckreja told PTI on the sidelines of a company event. He said ice creams constitute around one-third of the company's annual sales. "Ice creams are a on-the-go product and we are looking at high footfall locations like malls to set up our kiosk chain. The next three kiosks would come up at Delhi this month and then we would move to other states," Kuckreja said. This decision comes on heels of the company's announcement last month of opening 25-30 restaurants in the current fiscal.
Nirula's has a range of in-house ice cream flavours and the company's kiosks would serve soda, scoop, milkshakes and beverages, besides ice cream. The kiosks would be in the 80-100 sq ft size format. As part of its strategy, the company has launched a special flavour dedicated to the Delhi Daredevils IPL team. Nirula's is the official partner of the team.
